The New York Jets should be set at the quarterback position as they’ve brought Aaron Rodgers on board to fix their most glaring problem. And fans must be relieved as it appears that last season’s starting QB Zach Wilson might be getting worse.
According to Jets reporter Connor Hughes, the younger signal-caller put in an “ugly” performance during the team’s red zone period in practice and could not get a touchdown. In fact, he nearly turned the ball over.
“The Zach Wilson red zone period ends without a touchdown. Couple ugly throws in there, including a near INT off a deflection. #Jets,” Hughes tweeted.
The journo went on to add that Wilson missed badly on two throws into the end zone during the drill.
“The two passes he completed were check downs short of the end zone. He wildly missed on the other two,” he added.
This is certainly not a good look for a QB looking to regain some clout in the league after coming off a campaign in which he found himself benched on two occasions. Of course, fans piled on.

Jets supporters will be sweating over the fitness of Rodgers even more in light of this latest report. The veteran thrower has already missed some time in training due to a minor injury but, should he be unable to start the season for the Jets for some reason, it could be more of the same from NY.
The team considered themselves to be a good QB away from a Super Bowl. They would hate to have to rely on Wilson at any point in 2023/24.
