Zach Wilson has a lot on his shoulders during the upcoming 2021 season. Not only is he being looked at as the face of the Jets franchise, but he also has to deal with different types of people that are nowhere close to what he is accustomed to back in Utah.
On Thursday, the rookie QB talked about the aggressive New Jersey drivers who continue to cut him off on the roadways everywhere he goes.
That will take some getting used to, but he’ll be a certified New Jersey-New York driver in no time.
As far as him on the field goes, Wilson has picked which number he will be rolling with during his rookie campaign. The No. 2.
“I’m just mixing it up, doing something new,” Wilson said at rookie minicamp. “I like any single-digit number, I think they’re cool. I was the second pick, so that’s a good reason to switch it up. Not much reason behind it but I just think it’s a cool number.”

Wilson also told reporters on Thursday that “processing needs to be faster” at the professional level.
“If you’re watching TV and eating a bowl of cereal — learning the plays and formations, it’s kind of like eating that bowl of cereal,” Wilson said, via Darryl Slater of NJ.com. “You’re not really sitting there thinking about eating, lifting the spoon up to your mouth, and chewing. It just naturally happens. So for me, it’s working on understanding the formations, so it’s super quick, understanding the alignment of where receivers should be. And then you start to pick up certain things — certain coverages, how guys run certain routes. It’s going to be a process.”
