Marshawn Lynch provided his fair share of “Beast Mode” runs for the Seattle Seahawks during his storied tenure with the NFC West club.
It’s obviously way-too-early to compare Seahawks’ rookie running back Zach Charbonnet to the five-time Pro Bowler and Super 48 champion. But for one moment, at least, Charbonnet did a perfect Lynch impression with a “Beast Mode” run of his own against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s home tilt, Charbonnet took the handoff from Geno Smith and ran inside the five-yard line. Looking for the end zone, Charbonnet absolutely trucked Panthers’ safety Sam Franklin Jr. and sent him flying into another dimension.
A new camera angle shared by NFL Films shows just how massive the hit from Charbonnet was. Seahawks’ radio play-by-play voice Dave Raible summed it up best when he said Charbonnet hit Franklin “like a bus.”
Seattle’s rushing offense led the way to victory, racking racked up 146 yards and to touchdowns on 33 rookies. Sophomore Kenneth Walker III led the way with 97 and two touchdowns, while Charbonnet picked up 46 on nine carriees.
Charbonnet and the Seahawks will try to improve to 3-1 when they visit the New York Giants on Monday night next week.
