YouTube has unveiled its student plan for NFL Sunday Ticket, having previously announced that the service will be cheaper for scholars. And the deal on offer is pretty significant.
College and university students who are at least 18 years old and who can verify as much through SheerID will be able to access the service for just $109 a season – an extra $10 gets RedZone bundled into the plan. This is around a third of the price for non-schooling folk.
Students looking to sign up will have to pass a verification process and will have to pay the entire fee upfront, unlike the regular plan which can be paid in installments. On another note, the subscription will function through regular YouTube and not YouTube TV, which also has Sunday Ticket as an option.
Students would also be restricted to watching games on one device at a time as the plan “is intended for individual students,” per Google.
The subscription won’t be rolling over so there would be no need to worry about getting charged in a year’s time because you forgot to cancel before the period was up.
Apart from the above, students will be getting the same Sunday ticket as regular subscribers. The service does not stream playoff games, but those would be on television.
