YouTube and YouTube TV are getting 6 new features just before Kickoff Weekend in the NFL.
YouTube TV provided more details as to what it will do with the NFL Sunday Ticket, the league’s package of out-of-market games, this season.
Along with announcing a new monthly payment option and a cheaper Student Plan for NFL Sunday Ticket, they will also come up with the Multiview on YouTube TV. Users will also find a live chat and poll feature throughout the 2023 season. And they’re not done there!
Along with these new features, there will also be a “key plays” options, which will allow viewers to “catch up on a game they missed or watch a quick snippet of each major play before jumping into the live game.”
The split-screen feature is genius since it allows fans to watch multiple games in one sitting without needing to surf through its channels to catch different games on a multi-screen experience for the platform. For those who had Sunday Ticket on DirecTV, you should already be used to seeing this as they had a channel with up to eight games on it every year.
This YouTube TV feature will center on a “mosaic mode,” where four mini-screens will be available on the television app to feature the games. After selecting multiview, viewers could switch audio and captions between streams and jump in and out of a fullscreen view of a game.

“When building this feature, our goal was to ensure that it is accessible to users across all TV devices, regardless of their equipment”, said German Cheung, the engineering lead for the YouTube TV core experience team.
YouTube has added features and partnerships that help bring viewers into their favorite games — like key plays, fantasy view, 4K streaming, and NFL Sunday Ticket.
For YouTube TV subscribers without the Sunday Ticket, they can still experience its multiview to watch NFL and NCAA games this fall.
