Bucs security staff took down a fan who stormed the field late in the first half of the Sunday game against the Atlanta Falcons. The incident occurred as the Bucs lined up for an extra point according to ESPN’s Jenna Laine. The video of the altercation went viral on social media.
“Have never seen that before,” Laine wrote. “Got tackled by security and was pinned down for several seconds before being escorted off to the northeast corner of Raymond James Stadium.”
A woman who identified herself as the child’s mother told The Associated Press the boy is 10 years old. A police officer later told the AP the boy is older than 10, but he couldn’t release his information because he’s a juvenile.
It was later said that the mother has several children and was confused about which one jumped onto the field.
Tampa Police Department spokesman Lt. Abe Carmack said there was “an incident involving a juvenile” at Raymond James Stadium during the game but no charges will be filed and no arrest was made.

Sunday’s on-field fan incident also marked the second one in an NFL game in less than a week. The other incident involved the Rams and 49ers. The protester filed a police report after being subdued by Wagner.
As for the game itself, the Buccaneers held on to defeat the Atlanta Falcons thanks to a bogus roughing the passer penalty.
