During this week’s league meetings in Arizona — Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer decided to dish out some tough love to Xavier Rhodes.
The Vikings cornerback’s $10.4 million base salary became fully guaranteed on March 15, and Mike Zimmer sounded like a man who doesn’t believe he deserved after his performance in 2018.
“I just don’t think he played as well as he can play,” Zimmer said, via the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “He needs to play up to his ability level. We’re paying him a lot of money. He needs to play up to that contract.”
Harsh words that were certainly heard loud and clear by Rhodes.
Someone decided to check his ‘likes’ on Twitter and noticed that his activity shows that he wants out of Minnesota.
In 2018, Rhodes wasn’t quite the beacon of health as he missed two games and was limited in others.
