The Miami Dolphins 2021 campaign has come to a close, and the drama has already started after the team parted ways with head coach Brian Flores.
One of the most interesting storylines this offseason will be the next chapter in the saga of cornerback Xavien Howard. With Howard wanting more money, the team will have to make a decision regarding his status.
He may have made that decision already amid firing of Flores.
Howard posted a very cryptic message on social media where he could be seen walking off the field with his pads off – seemingly waiving goodbye to the fans.
Howard is under contract for the Dolphins through the 2024 season. His base salary for the 2022 season is currently set at $12.9 million. In 16 games this season, Howard had 50 combined tackles, 16 pass breakups and five interceptions.
Despite a 19-14 record over the past two years, the Dolphins decided to start over once again with their firing of Brian Flores. Howard seems like one of the players who did not agree with it.
