The New York Giants are likely preparing for a Saquon Barkley holdout, and they’re moving right along with signings. The Giants have made two notable signings this Friday, bringing in another running back in the form of James Robinson.
According to Mike Garofolo, they are also signing wide receiver Cole Beasley in a deal that would see the pass-catcher reunited with Brian Daboll, who worked with him as an offensive coordinator in Buffalo.
The 34-year-old, an All-Pro in 2020, revealed he would retire this year if he wasn’t on a team before training camp. It appears he’s made it just in time as training camp gets underway in NY soon.
Beasley joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last September but announced his retirement less than a month removed. He re-signed with the Bills in December, however.
The wideout appeared in four regular-season games between the Bucs and Bills last season, playing two playoff fixtures for Buffalo, where he made five receptions for 68 yards. The veteran has clocked 5,744 yards and 44 touchdowns off 556 catches in his 11-year career.

His signing comes days after the Giants refused to extend the disgruntled Barkley, who has been franchise-tagged but is considering sitting out next season in its entirety.
