On Thursday night, the Philadelphia Phillies hosted the Houston Astros for Game 5 of the World Series, and a ton of people tuned in to see if the home team could take one more step to securing a title over the hates Astros.
Fox got 12.768 million viewers for their coverage of Thursday’s World Series matchup. Amazon got 7.855 million for their coverage of the Texans taking on the Eagles, per Awful Announcing.
The local markets for Philadelphia and Houston also show the fans were way more interested in baseball.
The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles were heavy favorites against the struggling Texans, and despite the game being close early, the Eagles would eventually take control and blow them out as everyone expected.

The World Series is averaging 11.64 million viewers on FOX, which is up 1% from last year (11.53M) and even with 2019.
Game 6 of the World Series is Saturday night as the Phillies try to extend the series by defeating the Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
