Whether you’re a player or an owner, when Taylor Swift is around, it has a way of bringing the fan out of almost anybody.
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson turned into a huge fan when the pop sensation showed up to MetLife Stadium once again this year, but this time she was there to watch the Chiefs take on the Jets.
Over the weekend, and with Taylor Swift in attendance, Johnson’s Jets fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 23-20 on Sunday Night Football in a widely entertaining game that became a coming-out party for Zach Wilson.
In the immediate aftermath of the game, fans online began to claim that something sinister was going on as the Chiefs were on the receiving end of controversial calls or not being called for clear infractions.
The next day, Jets owner Woody Johnson posted a photo with him wearing a huge chain alongside Swift from Sunday’s game to social media.
“Yup you guessed it… we’re Swifties too,” Johnson tweeted.

Here’s how fans reacted to the photo:
While there is nothing wrong with being a fan and taking a picture with the person you are a fan of, it goes back to the time and place argument and you can see that Jets fans were not happy.
The picture itself is harmless but it is just not something the fan base wants to see right now. When your team is 1-3, and you lost your quarterback to injury in the first drive of the season, the optics matter as well.
Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, despite the ending, may have been one of the shining moments of the night for New York. Wilson finished the game by going 28 for 39 with 245 passing yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
