Will Levis has had enough embarrassment for one night.
Every year, the NFL Draft is full of surprises, and the 2023 version was no different.
Weeks before the NFL Draft, Will Levis heard his name trending on social media, with draft experts, and analysts speaking about him possibly being a top quarterback being selected early on in the first round.
In fact, a Reddit rumor said Levis was telling people that the Carolina Panthers were taking him with the first overall pick Thursday night. Sportsbooks took note, as Levis’ odds of being the first pick went from plus-4000 to 4-1.
Levis neither confirmed nor denied the rumor.
The bad night for Levis began when the Houston Texans’ smokescreens became very untrue and they selected Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud with the second overall pick, which had long been the consensus until recent reports.
Two picks later, the Indianapolis Colts selected Florida QB Anthony Richardson, which began his epic freefall. The Atlanta Falcons selected running back Bijan Robinson at No. 8. Ryan Tannehill’s Tennessee Titans at No. 11 went with offensive lineman Peter Skoronski.

It appeared he may have been headed to Tampa at the 19th selection after Tom Brady’s retirement, but they went with Pittsburgh defensive tackle Calijah Kancey.
Before you knew it, Levis would not get selected at all.
Now, it appears he will not be at the second night of the draft on Friday night.
Of course, Levis will get taken, but it does remain to be seen where he will take his talents. He likely does not want to sit and wait for that moment to happen while cameras continue to make memes out of him and his family.
In his two full seasons as Kentucky’s quarterback (24 games), Levis threw for 5,232 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions with a 65.7 completion percentage.
It’s obvious at this point, wherever he is selected, he will not come in to be the starter. Maybe sitting for a year or two behind a veteran is what he will need to build up that fire to show everybody what they skipped out on.
Some of the best quarterbacks in the league, past and present, were not their team’s first selection but they took full advantage of the opportunity when it was presented to them.
