A certain NFL team is being tipped to trade up to the No. 2 spot in the upcoming draft with the aim of acquiring Will Levis.
That’s according to Jaime Eisner of Draft Network, whose mock draft has the Minnesota Vikings picking second overall. The Vikings currently hold the 23rd pick of Thursday’s first round but Eisner reckons they could move up 21 spots in order to acquire the quarterback, whom the Houston Texans aren’t thought to be interested in.
Levis is the betting favorite to go second overall but that does not mean the Texans, who have the No. 2 pick, are taking him. Meanwhile, Eisner claims to have heard a lot of talk pertaining to Minnesota and its desire to trade up.
“I’ve heard loud rumblings that Minnesota is very active in trying to trade up for a quarterback and I think they will pull off a blockbuster here,” he writes. “Levis will succeed Kirk Cousins after the Vikings chose not to extend the latter beyond this season.”
As it happens, trading up to No. 2 might not be enough for the Vikings to get Levis as he’s rumored to have told the people close to him that the Carolina Panthers are taking him off the board first.

The odds on Levis going No. 1 have already gone from 50/1 to 4/1, so there could be some fire where that smoke is rising from.
Bryce Young is still the favorite to go No.1 but Levis is right there behind him, having previously overtaken C.J. Stroud as the betting favorite to go second overall.
