Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis had the perfect response after winning his NFL debut against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Levis got the start on Sunday in place of an injured Ryan Tannehill, who’s still nursing a high ankle sprain. Levis was near-perfect in his debut, going 19-of-29 for 238 yards and four touchdowns without an interception in a 28-23 Tennessee win.
Speaking to CBS’ Amanda Guerra after the game, Levis had a one-word message to summarize his NFL debut while offering a wholesome message to Titans fans (h/t Andrew McCarty of The Spun):
“It’s incredible…Shoutout to the fans for coming out and supporting and shoutout to this team for embracing me and getting me through these last couple of weeks. Excited to be part of this team and just do whatever I can to help us win.
“We’ve been saying we need to get (DeAndre Hopkins) in the end zone…I said why not 3 times? But he’s been awesome and just so happy to be part of this team.”
Three of Levis’ four touchdown passes went to star wideout DeAndre Hopkins. The victory moved Tennessee to 3-4, and one has to think that Levis just bought himself the starting duties for Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
