As the Cleveland Browns attempt to navigate the controversy surrounding quarterback Deshaun Watson and the length of time he’ll be suspended, a wild guess has been thrown out as to how much missed game action he will receive.
The Cleveland Browns quarterback initially received a six-game suspension but the NFL did what everybody expected them to do and appeal it in order to give him more time as well as a huge fine.
On Tuesday, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk shared his latest prediction on what it could be. He is expecting the NFL will suspend Watson 12 games. Additionally, he thinks Watson will receive a $10 million fine.
Hours later, he switched it to 17 games.
His change of heart is due to what Goodell said below:

His 6-game suspension follows 24 lawsuits accusing Watson of sexual misconduct during massage therapy appointments. Watson has denied any wrongdoing and has settled with 23 of his 24 accusers.
Although the NFL wanted to see Watson suspended for a full year, the league was willing to trim that number down in a settlement. According to ESPN and Sports Illustrated, the NFL’s final settlement offer was this: Watson would be suspended for 12 games and would also be fined $8 million to $10 million. Watson’s camp turned it down.
It appears it may be that or even more now.
The Browns open their preseason schedule against the Jacksonville Jaguars Aug. 12.
