Cooper Rush has started just one game in his six-year NFL career, but he’s about to start a whole lot more.
The Cowboys lost 19-3 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their season debut, and they also lost quarterback Dak Prescott to a broken thumb, which will reportedly keep him out an estimated 6-8 weeks.
During that game, Cooper Rush came in and completed 7-of-13 passes for 64 yards in garbage time.
Not many fans are excited to see Rush out there for the next few games, but his wife certainly is.
Rush’s wife, Lauryn Rush, was in attendance for the Cowboys’ season opener against the Buccaneers on Sunday night.
She took to Instagram and posted her Week 1 outfit on Instagram.
“A moment for the boots,” Lauryn wrote on Instagram.

You might remember Cooper Rush for his performance in a Week 8 game in 2021, when he started for the first time in his NFL career after Prescott injured his calf and led Dallas to an unlikely 20-16 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Rush was not selected in the 2017 NFL draft and ended up signing as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys, where he’s spent most of his career.
If he wants to make sure he has a job for life with the Cowboys, he will go out there and win some games until Prescott comes back. Jerry Jones would love him forever if he saves this season.
