Baker Mayfiedl was unable to recreate the magic he had in 2020 when he led the team to the playoffs, and has been finding it real difficult to get people in his corner in 2021.
His usual biggest supporter is his own wife, Emily Mayfield, but this time around, the support is coming from another woman.
The wife of Browns starting guard Wyatt Teller, Carly Whiting Teller, took to Twitter and sent a reminder for all those calling for a quarterback change in Cleveland.
“It seems like a lot of people have forgotten so let me remind y’all that Baker led the Browns to the playoffs after a SEVENTEEN season playoff drought,” she tweeted.
Last season, the Browns clinched their first playoff appearance since 2002, ending the NFL’s longest postseason drought. They followed that up by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 48-37 in an AFC wild-card game to notch their first postseason win since 1994.
How soon they forget.

In an injury-riddled year, Mayfield has passed for 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Mayfield will miss the Browns finale on Sunday against the Bengals, with the team announcing earlier this week that he would be getting surgery as soon as possible on the torn labrum on his non-throwing shoulder.
“I will wait to talk about reflecting on this season. There will be time for that,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said. “Ultimately, I am frustrated for Baker, not to be able to finish the season and those type of things, but anything past that, I will wait to discuss.”
