It’s been one of the hottest debates in the sporting world for two years now.
Colin Kaepernick has now been out of football for two years. It was back in the 2016 preseason, when he infamously kneeled during the performance of the Star-Spangled Banner. Kaepernick started a huge political movement that has since generated massive headlines across the United States.
But while Kaepernick has brought plenty of awareness towards the many ongoing issues in the country, one can’t help but wonder if his football career is over. Kaepernick filed a lawsuit against the league, alleging that owners were “colluding” to keep him out of the NFL. A settlement was reached in 2019, though terms weren’t made public and probably never will be.
Now that the lawsuit is done with, we’re back to square one. So what will happen with Kaepernick? Will somebody take the risk and sign this former starting signal-caller? Or did Kaepernick already play his last game back in the 2016 season?
We’re here to look at the pros and cons of signing Kaepernick. There’s plenty of risk, of course, but there may also be a great reward.
