The Atlanta Falcons have discussed several offers for wide receiver Julio Jones, including an offer of a future first-round draft pick, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini.
That wasn’t all she revealed.
Russini appeared on the Rich Eisen Show on Thursday to discuss how the Falcons and Jones even got to this point.
“The Falcons had been doing work over the phone probably since early March,” Russini said. “They started to put it out there that, ‘Hey, we’re open for business.’ They had a few teams and had some interest.
“The way I gathered the information since I started hearing about this a few months ago, it was Atlanta open to a trade and then Julio found out about it. And that’s how that began.”
It appears the seven-time Pro Bowler took it extremely personal that the team was shopping him, which ultimately led to him saying what he did to Shannon Sharpe live on Undisputed.
Jones said “I’m outta there,” when asked about the Falcons in a telephone call with FS1’s Shannon Sharpe on the network’s “Undisputed” show.
