The Philadelphia Eagles are on the hunt for a new offensive coordinator yet again. With Kellen Moore leaving after just one season to become the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, the Eagles are eyeing their next play-caller. The leading candidate? Passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo.
Patullo has been with the Eagles since 2021 and played a significant role in the offense, particularly in 2024 under Moore. With another change looming, let’s take a closer look at the man who might be calling the shots in Philadelphia next season.
Kevin Patullo’s Coaching Background
Kevin Patullo isn’t new to coaching, nor is he new to Nick Sirianni. He joined Sirianni’s Eagles staff in 2021 as the passing game coordinator, bringing experience from the Indianapolis Colts, where he worked as a wide receivers coach and pass-game specialist. Before that, Patullo had stints with multiple teams, including the Jets, Bills, and Titans, working his way up through offensive roles.

His relationship with Sirianni has been a key part of his coaching journey. The two have worked closely for years, refining offensive philosophies and developing game plans. Sirianni has trusted Patullo as his right-hand man, which could make him the natural choice to take over as offensive coordinator.
What Did Kevin Patullo Learn From Kellen Moore?
In 2024, Kellen Moore was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator, but Patullo remained heavily involved in the passing game. Throughout the season, he worked closely with Moore to develop game plans, adjust strategies, and ensure Jalen Hurts operated efficiently.
Patullo credited Moore with helping him refine his approach to merging different offensive philosophies. Moore’s time with the Cowboys and Chargers brought new ideas to the Eagles, and Patullo was at the center of blending those concepts into the team’s system.

“I’ve been a front seat to that and been with three different coordinators now and I’ve helped all three of them in different ways, so I’ve definitely learned a lot from Kellen,” Patullo said.
How Involved Was Kevin Patullo In 2024?
Despite Moore calling plays, Patullo was a key part of the offensive process. He and Moore were deeply involved in game-planning discussions, especially on Fridays when they fine-tuned the week’s strategy. They also collaborated on adjusting the game flow and making mid-game decisions.
Jalen Hurts, under their guidance, was the most efficient quarterback since the Eagles’ bye week, throwing just two interceptions in his final 15 games (including the playoffs). That level of efficiency speaks to Patullo’s impact on the offense, even though Moore was the official play-caller.
“We’re teaching each other new things back and forth and formulating new ideas and philosophies,” Patullo said. “It’s been very special.”
Will Patullo Get The OC Job?
This isn’t the first time Kevin Patullo has been considered for a promotion. In 2023, the Eagles opted for Brian Johnson over him. Then, in 2024, they went outside the organization to bring in Moore.
Now, with Moore gone, Patullo is a serious candidate again. ESPN reports that both the Eagles and Saints are considering him for their offensive coordinator roles. If Philadelphia wants continuity and someone familiar with Sirianni’s system, promoting Patullo makes sense.

However, the Eagles are also looking at external candidates. While Patullo is the frontrunner inside the building, the team may still explore other options before making a final decision.
“Whatever happens, happens,” Patullo said when asked about his future. “It will work itself out.”
The Bottom Line
Kevin Patullo has been crucial to the Eagles’ offensive success under multiple coordinators. His experience with Nick Sirianni, his work with Jalen Hurts, and his ability to adapt offensive schemes make him a strong candidate for the OC job.
With Kellen Moore gone, Philadelphia must decide whether to promote from within or bring in a fresh voice. If they choose continuity, Patullo could finally get his shot as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator.
