Who Is JaMycal Hasty?
Hasty was born on September 12, 1996, in Longview, Texas. He took his high school lessons at Longview High School before venturing out to Baylor College for further education. During his time in college, Hasty became inclined towards football as he was a regular member of his college team. Showing exceptional skills, the running back got picked up by the San Francisco 49ers.
However, things got a little wayward when Hasty picked up an ankle injury. After featuring on the injured list for a while, Hasty was released from the 49ers roster. This was when he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars. After a few weeks of training, Hasty was given the role of being the backup RB, behind Travis Etienne.
The 28-year-old fared quite well as he finished with 20 catches, 194 rushing yards, and a couple of touchdowns. Unfortunately, despite signing Hasty for a contract extension in February 2023, the Jaguars decided to waive him off in November of the same year. This was when the promising running back was roped in by the New England Patriots. And Hasty was quick to pounce on the opportunity.

Capitalizing on a defensive lapse from the Jaguars, QB Zach Maye led the attack while passing the ball to Hasty. Displaying a mixture of strength and power, the former Jaguars player made a superb 10-yard dash to score the Patriots’ first opening touchdown of the season.
