The case of Aaron Hernandez will remain one of the most tragic findings in NFL history. Being at the peak of his career, the New England Patriots star was imprisoned for life after being charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd. However, a more somber outcome still remains uncovered.
After just two years of serving his life sentence, the NFL star committed suicide, marking an end to an already gruesome series of events. Baffled by the suddenness of the incident, Aaron Hernandez’s brain was being studied by the researchers. And what they found will truly shock the fans.
What Was Inside The Brain Of Aaron Hernandez?
After Aaron Hernandez took his life, his family donated his brain to Boston University’s Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center. When researchers studied the brain, they found that the NFL star was suffering from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).
According to information provided by the Mayo Clinic, under such a condition, a person can experience suicidal thoughts, aggressive and impulsive behavior, emotional instability, and many more symptoms. To add more intrigue to the narrative, the researchers stated that Hernandez’s condition was the most severe case for a 27-year-old.
This discovery led to questions trying to navigate the roots of his mental trauma. After all, Hernandez was an established NFL star, enjoying a $40 million contract with the Patriots. Coming back to his condition, CTE is usually common in people who suffer repeated impacts on the head, causing an incurable degenerative brain disorder.
However, there is no concrete evidence on whether his CTE was the reason for his violent behavior. According to a researcher, McKee, “It’s impossible to know precisely how the CTE impacted him, as many factors likely contributed to his behavior and actions. … CTE likely contributed to his depression and his erratic, impulsive, violent behaviors.” Surely, there can be no plausible explanation as to why Aaron Hernandez shot Odin Lloyd mercilessly.

What Happened To Odin Lloyd?
Odin Lloyd was an NFL aspirant who played for the Boston Bandits in the New England Football League. While dating the sister of Shayanna Jenkins, Lloyd became friends with Aaron Hernandez. While Lloyd was pretty much excited to befriend the New England Patriots star, the NFL athlete was not too pleased. With a stark difference in the lifestyle between Odin Lloyd and Shayanna’s sister, Shaneah Jenkins, Hernandez was quite skeptical.
Hernandez pulled the last pin of the trigger when he spotted Lloyd conversing with a group of men who were supposedly the enemies of the NFL star. Without thinking much, Hernandez immediately called for Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz. Together, the trio picked up Lloyd at around 2:30 am in their car and supposedly shot him dead soon after.
