Fans attending the Buffalo Bills-Pittsburgh Steelers playoff game at Highmark Stadium on Sunday better dress up nice and warm.
As noted by football analyst Warren Sharp, the weather forecast for Sunday’s AFC Wild Card Round game is absolutely brutal: 52 MPH gust wins, 23°(feels like 7°) with light snow:
This doesn’t necessarily spell a giant advantage for Josh Allen and company, though. The Bills played in the snow in last year’s AFC Divisional Round tilt against Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals, a 27-10 Buffalo loss victory.
Acrisure Stadium (home of the Steelers) doesn’t get much snow, but Pittsburgh players can also relate to chilly conditions during the winter, so they shouldn’t be too badly affected by the weather in Orchard Park.
If the game ends up being as freezing cold as the forecast says, we can expect both the Bills and Steelers to run the ball a lot. With crazy wind gusts, it could also affect coaching decisions when it comes to kicking and punting.
Buffalo is looking to reach the Divisional Round for the fourth straight year, while Pittsburgh is eyeing its first playoff win in seven years.
