Congrats to the Philadelphia Eagles on winning Super Bowl 59 and putting a stamp on what was a roller-coaster of a 2024 NFL season.
And so, the dreaded seven-month wait for NFL action commences. With the new league year set to begin in March, though, it’s already time to turn the page to next season. So, let’s dive into our way-too-early edition of the 2025 NFL power rankings.
Who are the top-ranked teams in our 2025 NFL season power rankings?
32. Cleveland Browns
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1776619147-1024x675.jpg)
The Browns went a woeful 3-and-14 WITH Myles Garrett on defense. How much worse can it get now that the franchise face wants out?
Garrett’s inevitable departure puts Cleveland in the driver’s seat for the top pick in 2026. Their QB situation is also a question mark, with Deshaun Watson potentially missing the entire 2025 season. Tough time to be a Browns fan, but at least that No. 2 pick provides some optimism heading into the offseason.
31. Tennessee Titans
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1287251045-1024x675.jpg)
The Titans have a million options with the No. 1 pick. Trade it to the highest bidder, or keep it? What do you do if it’s the latter? Take a chance on a boom-or-bust QB prospect? Or go with a safer pick like Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter? Hmm…

No pressure at all on new GM Mike Borgonzi. It’s only a franchise-altering decision ahead for this NFL team!
30. New York Giants
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1803109848-1024x675.jpg)
The Giants are giving the Joe Schoen-Brian Daboll regime another year to correct themselves. That all starts with figuring out the quarterback situation after finally moving on from all-time bust Daniel Jones.
New York could target a QB with the No. 3 pick, but don’t be surprised if they look to bring in a veteran like, say, Kirk Cousins, Russell Wilson, or even Aaron Rodgers in the trade market. The next priority is to find another stud pass-catcher to complement 2024 rookie sensation Malik Nabers.
29. Las Vegas Raiders
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1752832038-1024x675.jpg)
Absolutely loved the Raiders’ hiring of Pete Carroll as the HC. Finally, a proven winner and culture builder who can fix this franchise.
Vegas may just be one quarterback away from emerging as a threat in the AFC. You’ve heard all the connections to Shedeur Sanders, who’s in play with the No. 6 pick. But what about bringing in Aaron Rodgers? And no, a potential reunion between Carroll and Russell isn’t as crazy as it sounds.
28. New York Jets
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1161850452-1024x675.jpg)
New Jets head coach Aaron Glenn and GM Darren Mougey have already decided that they’re moving on from Aaron Rodgers. It’s a smart long-term play, but it also means 2025 will be another NFL season of growing pains in Gotham.
Mougey also must make a decision on star wideout Davante Adams and pending 2026 free agent Breece Hall. Young stars Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner are also extension-eligible.
As this is a weak QB class, look for the Jets to target a bridge QB option. Jameis Winston, Russell Wilson, Joe Flacco, Justin Fields, and Jacoby Brissett could be Jets targets in free agency.
27. New England Patriots
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/GettyImages-1774543360-1024x675.jpg)
The Patriots aced the hiring of former fan favorite Mike Vrabel as their new head coach. With $110 million in cap space and the No. 4 pick in their back pockets, they really have the potential to accelerate the rebuild and quickly reform into an NFL playoff contender.
You can bet much of that cap space will go toward upgrading the supporting cast around Drake Maye. Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin, Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper, and Stefon Diggs headline a deep group of free agent receivers….just sayin’
26. New Orleans Saints
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1341295171-1024x675.jpg)
A tough cap situation means the Saints will likely have to churn out a similar aging, expensive, and underwhelming core of starters in 2025. But if they could somehow get out of Derek Carr’s contract, that’d be a rare win for GM Mickey Loomis.
We loved the hiring of Eagles OC Kellen Moore as head coach, but this squad also feels like a safe bet to finish with a top-five pick next year. Juwan Johnson, Payton Turner, Paulson Adebo, and Chase Young headline their list of pending free agents.
25. Carolina Panthers
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1776950635-1024x675.jpg)
Bryce Young’s improved play in the second half bought him another chance to solidify himself as the Panthers’ long-term QB. Now, GM Dan Morgan must spend his ample cap space to address the many roster flaws, including the o-line, wide receiver room, and defense.
Easier said than done, but he can’t go quiet after striking out more often than not on his 2024 NFL off-season moves.
24. Jacksonville Jaguars
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/GettyImages-1458319660-9-1024x675.jpg)
After a sour end to the Doug Pederson era, the Jags followed the trend of hiring a young offensive-minded coach. Enter Liam Coen, who got the gig after spending one season as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ OC.
Unlike the teams below them on this list, the Jags really have a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. This roster isn’t much different than the 2022 squad that won the AFC South and a Wild Card Round game.
If Coen comes as advertised, the Jags could re-emerge as a threat to win the division in 2025.
23. Indianapolis Colts
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1699906156-1024x675.jpg)
We honestly can’t understand the decision to give Chris Ballard a millionth season at the helm, but Jim Irsay’s gonna put loyalty over championships, we suppose.
Otherwise, the offseason got off to a good start with the hiring of Lou Anarumo as the new defensive coordinator. The man’s history of giving Patrick Mahomes issues speaks for itself, and there’s a lot more talent to work with here compared to what he had in Cincy.
As for Ballard, the priorities are to add more help in the secondary and find more playmakers for Anthony Richardson.
22. Chicago Bears
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1428092907-1024x675.jpg)
The Bears came away with the biggest prize of the 2025 NFL head coach hiring cycle — none other than Detroit Lions’ OC Ben Johnson.
Caleb Williams had a superb rookie year despite being surrounded by terrible coaching. So, there are no excuses for the Bears in 2025. Time to become a top-10 offense and become a threat in the NFC playoff picture.
21. Arizona Cardinals
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1880556900-1024x675.jpg)
The Cardinals are giving the Monti Ossenfort-Jonathan Gannon regime another year following a brutal late-season collapse. The good news: There’s lots of cap space to work with, and no core players headed to free agency.
The offense around Kyler Murray is practically set. So expect Ossenfort to mostly address the defense, particularly cornerback and edge rusher.. And hey, he’s got over $71 million in cap space to use!
20. Dallas Cowboys
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1782727827-1024x675.jpg)
The Cowboys continue to be a circus show, thanks to Jerry Jones’ ignorance. Why wait too long to cut ties with Mike McCarthy? Why did you even bother interviewing Deion Sanders? And Brian Schottenheimer is your choice as HC? Really?
Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons will prevent Dallas from bottoming out. But Jones already looks poised to throw another season down the toilet thanks to his constant failures in the GM chair.
19. Atlanta Falcons
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1687054703-1024x675.jpg)
We know Michael Penix Jr. will be the starting QB in the 2025 NFL season. The real question is if Kirk Cousins will be the league’s most expensive backup, or if the Falcons will manage to find a taker via trade.
The NFC South is still very winnable for Atlanta as currently constructed, so don’t expect any major splashes from GM Terry Fontenot. If Penix comes as advertised, this is a dangerous team.
18. Miami Dolphins
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1424955622-1024x675.jpg)
If Tua Tagovailoa didn’t miss six games, Miami could have easily snuck in as a wild-card team. As long as he’s healthy, the Dolphins will always have a chance.
Remember, top pass-rushers Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb missed 13 and all 17 games, respectively. With better health luck, Mike McDaniel’s group could really challenge Buffalo for the AFC East crown.
17. Seattle Seahawks
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1978266353-1024x675.jpg)
The Seahawks’ 10-7 finish actually marked their best record since 2020, but it wasn’t enough to make the NFL playoffs. So you can’t blame GM John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald if they decide to keep the same core intact.
Geno Smith is heading into a contract year, and it sounds like the ‘Hawks want to commit to him long-term. It bodes well for Smith that Seattle hired Klint Kubiak to replace Ryan Grubb at OC.
16. San Francisco 49ers
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1354756523-1024x675.jpg)
Injuries and some bad bounces in close games sunk the 49ers, who finished dead-last in the NFC West with a 6-and-11 record. Well, we got news for you: They’re too deep and talented to be that bad again.
GM John Lynch will likely trade Deebo Samuel, who wore out his welcome here a long time ago. The main question is if San Fran can extend Brock Purdy before Week 1 or if he’ll have the “contract year” hovering over him in 2025. Stay tuned…
15. Pittsburgh Steelers
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1860569313-1024x675.jpg)
The Steelers have a tough decision to make: Bring Back Russell Wilson? Or Justin Fields? Or neither? Hmm…
We’d love to see them target Aaron Rodgers if he doesn’t retire. Kirk Cousins could be in play, too. One way or another, the QB situation must be resolved, and another weapon is needed, with Najee Harris likely to leave for free agency.
14. Cincinnati Bengals
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1643369137-1024x675.jpg)
There’s zero pressure on owner Mike Brown and de facto GM Duke Tobin, who only have to extend superstar wideouts Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins AND 2024 sacks champion Trey Hendrickson.
Joe Burrow’s MVP-like season went to waste because of Cincy’s awful defense, prompting Zac Taylor to name Al Golden his new DC. If Brown can lock up at least Chase and Hendrickson, it’ll be a successful NFL offseason for a Bengals team that has the makings of a title contender.
13. Los Angeles Rams
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1450746063-1024x675.jpg)
Cooper Kupp publicly announced that the Rams will trade him, and it’s still unclear if they’ll retain Matthew Stafford for 2025. Once those situations are addressed, we’ll have a better idea of where to rank the Rams.
For now, just outside the top 10 is good. They were this close to knocking off the eventual champion Eagles, after all. And by the way, GM Les Snead has nearly $40 million in cap space to play with.
12. Denver Broncos
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1341327719-1024x675.jpg)
Coming off a surprise return to the NFL postseason, the franchise’s first in nine years, the future is trending up in Mile High City.
The main priority is bringing in new weapons for Bo Nix because Courtland Sutton was the only real difference-maker for the rookie QB. The draft and free agency give GM George Paton plenty of avenues to address that, though.
11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1863701241-1024x675.jpg)
If the Bucs don’t retain Chris Godwin, the front office will have to dip its feet into the NFL free-agent pool or trade market to find a replacement. Get that sorted, and they’ll comfortably be the team to beat in the NFC South.
The Bucs have limited cap space to work with, though, so don’t expect many roster changes for the defending division champs.
10. Los Angeles Chargers
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1167059727.jpg)
The Chargers will have about $73 million in cap space to bolster a deep roster that won 11 games last season. First, they need to decide on the futures of pending free agents Asante Samuel Jr. and Khalil Mack.
On offense, getting another stud pass-catcher for Justin Herbert would go a long way to take this unit to another level, too. Can’t live and die by the Herbert-Ladd McConkey tandem.
9. Houston Texans
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1422833921-1024x675.jpg)
If the Texans hadn’t lost both Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs to season-ending injuries, they could have very well upset Kansas City in the Divisional Round.
Alas, the Texans once again fell short of the franchise’s first AFC Championship Game appearance. Extending Diggs is a key to keeping this offense at its ceiling.
8. Green Bay Packers
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1832841518-1024x675.jpg)
Josh Jacobs said what had to be said: The Packers need a No. 1 receiver. Pure and simple. That’s what’s holding them back from a Super Bowl right now.
This team had top-10 scoring offenses and defenses last year but bowed out to Philly in the Wild Card Round. This is the time for Brian Gutekunst to stop being conservative and actually make a big-time play or two for established star NFL receivers.
7. Minnesota Vikings
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1743224367-1024x675.jpg)
The Vikings haven’t made a final decision on the future of Sam Darnold, but logic suggests he’ll price himself out of town and let Kevin O’Connell move forward with JJ McCarthy.
The Vikings have about $70 million in cap space to tinker with their roster. Aside from Darnold, the list of pending free agents includes Harrison Smith, Aaron Jones, Stephon Gilmore, and Byron Murphy.
6. Washington Commanders
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1897568182-1024x675.jpg)
All Jayden Daniels did was produce the best rookie QB season ever and lead Washington to 12 wins and the NFC Championship Game — the franchise’s first appearance since 1991.
Oh, and the NFC runner-ups have just over $77 million in cap space to work with this NFL offseason. As if they weren’t scary enough to begin with…
This wasn’t lightning in a bottle. The Commanders are legitimate and are just entering a long-term championship window with Daniels and head coach Dan Quinn.
5. Baltimore Ravens
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1897548536-1024x675.jpg)
Argue all you want if Lamar Jackson got screwed in the MVP voting, but the bottom line is that the Ravens blew another shot at a Super Bowl with a top-tier roster:
Ronnie Stanley and Patrick Mekari headline Baltimore’s pending free agents. An already lackluster secondary will likely move on from Marcus Williams in a cap-saving move, so it’ll be interesting to see how Eric DeCosta replaces the stalwart veterans that depart for greener pastures.
4. Buffalo Bills
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1429672091-1024x675.jpg)
The Bills’ season ended with another gut-wrenching loss to the Chiefs in the playoffs..but let’s not act like this was a failure of a year. Josh Allen won his first MVP in year one without Stefon Diggs, after all.
The Chiefs stand to lose several key players in free agency. This is Buffalo’s chance to add better weapons around Allen and further tighten the gap with Kansas City, who should be more vulnerable than before in 2025.
3. Detroit Lions
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1789945746-1024x675.jpg)
The Lions’ dream season ended with a brutal 45-31 loss to the Commanders in the Divisional Round. But we refuse to make mountains out of molehills. There’s only one champion every year.
Honestly, the Lions don’t have to do much roster tinkering this NFL offseason. They just need better luck on the injury front, especially on defense. Aidan Hutchinson’s return will provide a major boost, and the league’s highest-scoring offense of 2024 will bring all of its stars back.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/GettyImages-1242717460-1024x675.jpg)
It’s too easy to overreact after one heartbreaking loss and assume the sky is falling. Yes, the Chiefs embarrassed themselves in every aspect during Super Bowl 59, but let’s not act like this is the end. They’ve won five of the last six AFC title games for a reason.
There’s no shame in Patrick Mahomes and company falling short of a three-peat. There’s a reason nobody has ever done it.
There’s little time to sulk about it, though. The Chiefs have a long list of pending free agents. First, they need to know what Travis Kelce’s future plans are. Then they need to go about reshaping the offensive line and wide receiver corps.
1. Philadelphia Eagles
![](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/GettyImages-1464592039-1024x675.jpg)
Well, that was one Super Bowl-sized cherry on top of a thrilling 2024 NFL season now, wasn’t it?
Not only did the Eagles take down the Chiefs and deny their three-bid bid in Super Bowl 59, but they absolutely annihilated the defending champs. Major congrats to the Eagles on winning their second Super Bowl in eight seasons.
It’s not a stretch to say this could be the start of a dynasty. Jalen Hurts, 2K man Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Cooper DeJean, Quinyon Mitchell, and Jalen Carter are in the midst of or just entering their primes.
With the entire core signed long-term, it will indeed continue to stay Sunny in Philadelphia…
