Did the Washington Football Team screw up their own reveal of the franchise’s new name and logo? It appears so.

Washington Football Team will officially unveil its new name and logo on Feb. 2nd, but social media is going crazy this week as photos surfaced seemingly showing that the team might be named the Admirals or Commanders.

Team president Jason Wright and other faces of the franchise claim to have narrowed a list of 40,000 fan submissions to three final name possibilities, and they’ve already ruled out several options, including “RedWolves.”

Less than a month before Washington’s planned name-change reveal, WashingtonAdmirals.com redirects to the team’s official website, WashingtonFootball.com.

Boomer Esiason of the “Boomer and Gio” show on WFAN said Monday the team’s new name is “The Admirals.”
