The Washington Commanders are finally free of Dan Snyder’s clutches, with a new ownership group including Josh Harris and Magic Johnson completing a purchase of the team last week.
But, after suffering Snyder for as long as they have, Commanders fans probably couldn’t imagine how great even seemingly small gestures would make them feel.
The team has already made efforts to accommodate supporters, having unveiled a brand-new sitting area for fans coming to check out training camp in Ashburn Virginia.
As surprising as this may sound, Washington hasn’t offered such amenities to their fans in over 20 years as Snyder was simply too self-serving to think about fan comfort.

While this is all pretty normal around the NFL, Commanders fans will be thrilled by the gesture. There’s a lot to be happy about in D.C. nowadays, including the fact that they might not even go by the term “Commanders fans” soon enough, with the new owners likely to change the team’s name as well.

Harris and Co. will probably have a good few moments such as this one as Snyder was such a bad owner, they’re actually going to have to try hard if they’re going to be any worse. The bar really isn’t that high.
