The Washington Commanders won their third consecutive game Sunday by defeating the Indianapolis Colts 17-16.
Just days later, the fan base got even better news when Dan Snyder retained BofA Securities to sell the Washington Commanders, according to Forbes.
The Washington Commanders announced in a statement that co-owners Dan and Tanya Snyder have hired Bank of America Securities “to consider potential transactions.”
Snyder isn’t being forced to sell the team despite mounting pressure to potentially remove him as an NFL owner.
The organization provided the following statement:
“Dan and Tanya Snyder and the Washington Commanders announced today that they have hired BofA Securities to consider potential transactions.
The Snyders remain committed to the team, all of its employees and its countless fans to putting the best product on the field and continuing the work to set the gold standard for workplaces in the NFL.”

According to Forbes, the Commanders were valued at $5.6 billion this past August. The Denver Broncos sold for an NFL record $4.65 billion just this year, so this purchase of the Commanders could break records.
According to a report by NFL Media, the Snyders could wind up selling all or just a piece of their ownership in the team.
Snyder and the Commanders are currently being investigated by both the House Oversight Committee and the NFL for sexual harassment and financial misconduct. Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said last month that there was “merit to remove” Snyder as owner of the Commanders.
“It’s something we have to review, we have to look at all the evidence and we have to be thorough and it’s something that has to be given serious consideration,” Irsay said.
After Irsay’s comments, the Commanders released a statement saying Snyder wouldn’t sell the team.
“We are confident that, when he has an opportunity to see the actual evidence in this case, Mr. Irsay will conclude that there is no reason for the Snyders to consider selling the franchise. And they won’t,” the statement said.
