Jonathan Allen really should’ve thought this out before putting it out on social media.
During a late-night Twitter AMA,, the former Alabama star and Washington Commanders defensive tackle was asked, “You can have dinner with three people, dead or alive. Who are you inviting?” Allen shocked a lot of people by replying, “My grandad, Hitler and [Michael] Jackson.”
Allen’s explanation on wanting to meet Hitler made it even worse.
“He’s a military genius and I love military tactics but honestly I would want to pick his brain as to why he did what he did. I’m also assuming that the people I’ve chosen have to answer all my questions honestly,” Allen wrote.
The backlash was swift:
“I see why Daron Payne wanted to fight you now,” one fan responded.

“A military genius doesn’t try to invade Russia in the winter,” another fan wrote.
“changed their name to the Commanders and now they think they know military genius when they see it ,” wrote a third.
On Wednesday afternoon, Allen deleted his tweets and tried desperately to explain that he merely thought it might be interesting to talk to the man but acknowledged him as one of the most evil people to have ever lived.
“Not props, I probably should have used a different term but I was asked and I was giving my reason as to why I think it would be interesting to have a convo with him. He’s easily one if not the most evil persons to have ever lived but this was a hypothetical question,” Allen wrote.
The 27-year-old Allen just made the Pro Bowl for his strong 2021 campaign. He started all 17 games for Washington, recording nine sacks and 62 tackles.
