Earlier today it was reported that several players on the Washington Commanders were disciplined by the team for drinking on their flight home from Philadelphia.
That, of course, is a no-no, as the NFL prohibits teams from having alcohol on their planes, buses, or at their facilities. So how did the Commanders players get booze on their flight on Monday night? That’s what we’re beginning to find out as more details emerge about their victory celebration.
According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the team did not provide the players with the alcohol that was being consumed on the plane—meaning the players must have snuck it on themselves.
The Commanders were celebrating a huge 32-21 victory over the Eagles, as they were responsible for taking down the NFL’s only remaining undefeated team.
Shortly after the win, video started to emerge of Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke drinking beers on the team plane.
