Does Warren Sapp actually know what the Chicago Bears plan on doing at QB and in the NFL Draft?
No one knows for sure, but it did not stop him from going on a podcast and the Bears want to trade Fields for picks and then use the No. 1 overall selection on Alabama’s Bryce Young.
Here’s what he said:
“What I’m hearing out of Chicago is they’re fixing to package him up, trade him for some other pieces and then go with the Bryce kid from Alabama,” Sapp said.
Sapp added: “There’s smoke everywhere talking about them trading Justin Fields and going after Bryce.”
With the Bears in possession of the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, there have been reports that they could trade the pick for a substantial package or even take a QB, but nobody really expects them to take a QB.

“[Fields would] be number one,” ESPN’s Mel Kiper said if Fields and Young were in the same draft class.
“I had Justin [Fields] right behind Trevor Lawrence,” Kiper said. “I love Justin Fields coming out now. His passing and all the things we know have to be improved upon. He knows that they got to get better players around him. But, as a dual-threat quarterback who brings that great skill set and can be an elite quarterback. He’s shown that. He’s made the strides he’s developed and he’s progressed.
“So I would say they got to feel pretty good where they are.”
Considering what Fields accomplished in 2022 with nothing around him — it’s downright silly to believe the Bears are going to trade Fields.
In year one, Fields completed 58.9% of his passes for 1,870 yards, seven touchdowns, 10 interceptions. In year two, Fields completed 60.4% of his passes for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, a rating of 85.2, and added 1,143 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
It’s clear that Fields made a massive leap both as a passer and a rusher, and his supporting cast is mediocre at best.
Imagine if he had some talent around him.
