Von Miller has broken his silence following accusations of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.
The Buffalo Bills linebacker spoke to reporters this Thursday for the first time since he turned himself in on an arrest warrant in Texas in November.
The defensive star was wanted on a felony charge of assaulting a pregnant person on the back of an incident with his partner. However, she subsequently recanted the allegations against the player, claiming it was blown out of proportion after having made a 911 call during which she claimed he was pushing and shoving her during an altercation.
Speaking to the media today, Miller claimed that everything that has been reported on the matter is completely false, apart from the fact that he and his girlfriend are expecting a third child.
“Whenever you see that stuff pop up in articles and stuff, it’s shocking, of course, especially when my name is attached to it,” he admitted, per ProFootballTalk. “It is 100 percent false, it’s overblown. . . . I know who I am, I know my character, I know the type of person I am, I know me and my girlfriend’s relationship.”
The eight-time Pro Bowler added that he is hopeful that “everything will be cleared up” as he reckons he “has the right people on the job” to ensure that happens.
