An arrest warrant has been issued for Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller after the former Super Bowl MVP was accused of assaulting a pregnant woman who is believed to be his longtime girlfriend.
Officers were called to a “major disturbance” to their shared home. Miller and the “victim got into a verbal argument and the suspect assaulted the victim,” police said.
Miller, who was named MVP of the 2016 Super Bowl for the Denver Broncos, had already left the premises by the time officers arrived. The victim was treated for minor injuries.
The Bills, who have a bye this week, issued a statement Thursday acknowledging that they are aware of the incident and “are in the process of gathering more information.”
“This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.”
Miller, who starred at Texas A&M and was a two-time first-team All-American, has played on two Super Bowl winners and was the MVP of the 2015 game with the Broncos. He won a second title in 2021 as a member of the Los Angeles Rams.
