On Sunday, New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson made headlines when he refused to accept responsibility following the team’s 10-3 road loss to the New England Patriots.
The New York defense had a near-perfect game, holding the Patriots to three points on the day. New England scored the only touchdown of the game in the waning seconds, when Marcus Jones took an 84-yard punt return to the end zone for six.
After the game, Wilson was asked in his post-game media conference if he felt like he let the Jets’ defense down. The second-year quarterback said “No”, leading to widespread criticism across the football world. Wilson completed nine of 22 pass attempts for 77 yards and no touchdowns in the loss.
On Monday, a Cowboys fan posted a video to compare the differences between Wilson, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. The key difference that you’ll quickly notice? Unlike Wilson, Prescott and Allen both take the blame for the loss.
To Wilson’s credit, he spoke to reporters on Wednesday and admitted that he mishandled Sunday’s post-game conference. Head coach Robert Saleh has already announced that third-stringer Mike White will get the start for the team’s Week 12 home game against the Chicago Bears.

Wilson missed the Jets’ first three games of 2022 recovering from knee surgery. Backup Joe Flacco started those three contests, tossing 901 yards and five touchdowns against three interceptions.
Though the Jets are in the tight playoff race with a 6-4 record, Wilson’s play can’t exactly be cited as a reason why. The ground game, rookie wideout Garrett Wilson and the stingy defense that ranks ninth in points allowed have powered the Jets to their surprise start.
The 27-year-old White appeared in four games for the Jets last season, making three starts. He tossed 953 passing yards and five touchdowns against eight interceptions.
