According to Pro Football Talk, the Vikings and OL coach Rick Dennison have reached an agreement that keeps him with the team.
It was reported that Dennison had declined to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and is not allowed to work hands-on with players as a result under the league’s protocols for Tier 1 personnel. Pro Football Talk added Dennison will stay with the team and the two sides will comply with whatever protocols apply for whatever vaccinated status he’s in.
The 63-year-old has served as the Vikings’ offensive line coach/run game coordinator the past two seasons. Players are not required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine but will face strict protocols during training camp and throughout the season that vaccinated players will be able to forgo.
Dennison joined the Vikings in 2019 in his current role and has three Super Bowl wins under his belt prior to arriving — a longtime assistant of the Denver Broncos who also spent time with the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.
