Eric Kendricks found out his punishment after he delivered a dirty hit on Bears quarterback Justin Fields during last week’s NFC North matchup.
The Minnesota Vikings linebacker was fined $10,300 for his hit on rookie quarterback that resulted in his ejection from the Week 15 contest. After scrambling out of the pocked and sliding sliding down, Fields took a late shot to the head from Kendricks. It was pretty blatant, which is why he was ejected for the hit.
And now, the league has handed down a heft fine as well.
The play happened during the fourth quarter of Monday’s 17-9 Vikings victory. Luckily for the Bears, Fields was not injured on the play.
“Obviously, I did make contact,” Kendricks told reporters Wednesday. “I get the penalty. Try to keep him safe. But at the same time, I felt the ejection was a little harsh. I tried to get out of the way. I did hit him, so I do understand the penalty. But the ejection was harsh.”

As you know, the league has put several rules into place in recent years to protect defenseless players, especially when it comes to contact to the head.
