The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday that they’ve waived CB Jeff Gladney following his recent third degree felony indictment.
His 22-year-old ex-girlfriend told police that they got into an altercation over text messages she had received.
Gladney is accused of hitting the accuser with closed fists, choking her and dragging her by the hair while driving with her outside his vehicle. The woman claims that Gladney was “pulling (her) by her hair trying to hold her still in order to get the Face ID to work.”
Detectives documented bruising on her head, ears and torso and she reported that she has scratches on her face and neck and abrasions on her knees.
“According to the lawsuit that was acquired by USA TODAY Sports, Gladney is accused of committing multiple inexcusable acts in addition to the alleged assault.
Some of the new details from the lawsuit include the Minnesota cornerback allegedly assaulting the female victim for more than two hours, slamming the victim’s head on the dashboard of his vehicle, pulling off the freeway multiple times to assault the victim while stopped at red lights, attempting to bribe the victim to keep quiet after the incident with a $1,000 necklace and a gift certificate to a spa, and showing up at the victim’s home less than two weeks ago to force her to delete text messages and screenshots of text messages.”
