The Minnesota Vikings are adding a running back this week as there are worries over starter Alexander Mattison possibly missing time.
Mattison left Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints with a possible concussion, prompting his team to make a move at the RB position ahead of their clash with the Denver Broncos this coming Sunday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, veteran back Myles Gaskin is headed back to Minnesota following the Los Angeles Rams signing him from their practice squad.
“Back to Minnesota: The Vikings are signing running back Myles Gaskin to their practice squad after the Rams signed him away from Minnesota, per source,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
“Myles Gaskin returns a day after Alexander Mattison was diagnosed with a concussion. We’ll see how the protocol goes this week with Mattison, but it’s possible the Vikings will go to Denver this week with Ty Chandler and Kene Nwangwu as their top two RBs,” ESPN’s Kevin Seifert added.
Gaskin spent four years with the Miami Dolphins before the Vikings signed him last August. He was released a month later and then signed to the practice squad, with the team pushing him back up to the active roster then releasing him and having him join the practice squad for a second time before the Rams snatched him up.
