The Washington Commanders have come off looking pretty badly following one of their vice presidents getting duped into shooting off at the mouth and making some damaging claims.
The team has suspended its VP of content, Rael Enteen, for referring to NFL players as mostly “homophobic” while calling fans “high school-educated alcoholics” and “mouth breathers.”
Enteen went on a date with an undercover journalist working for the O’Keefe Media Group and was secretly recorded making the vile comments referenced above. He was also heard calling NFL Roger Goodell a $50 million puppet while claiming the league’s social justice programs have only been undertaken to appease the public.
“Over 50 percent of our roster is either white religious — ‘and God says f**k the gays’ — another big chunk is very low-income African-American that comes from a community that is inherently very homophobic,” he said after being asked about the team’s make-up.
He was then asked whether people who work in the NFL are “just not very smart.”
“There’s obviously a spectrum. I’ve met some very, very smart people in the NFL,” he replied.
“There’s some that are like dumb as all hell,” he said about the players.

“Most of the fans, I would say, are high-school-educated alcoholics … There’s fights in the stands all the time,” he’s heard saying in another segment.
Asked if he considered them to be “like lower class people,” he remarked, “I hate to use that term. I would just say mouth-breathers.”
Rael Enteen Admits The Washington Commanders Had Sewage Leaking Onto Fans In The Stands
Enteen’s LinkedIn page notes that he has been with the Washington Commanders for four years and previously worked with the New York Jets.
“My job is to sell hope to the fans, right? I need them buying tickets,” he admitted. “When there’s not much hope to sell I still have to dig deep to find it.”
“Because we had like pipes leaking sewage on our fans in the middle of the game,” he said when pressed further. “And I have to put out a social post saying like, ‘It wasn’t sewage water. We promise.’ That is state-run media.”
“Oh yeah, he’s a puppet,” he said when the conversation segued to Goodell. “A $50 million puppet.”
He was then asked to explain the league’s social justice initiatives.
“It’s performative,” he claimed.
“It’s not done out of the goodness of their heart and morality. It’s done because George Floyd changed the game. I mean that the social justice efforts are a performance for the sake of public perception and not because they want to actually push progress.”
He added that they aren’t put in place to get support from liberals but to “get as much money as possible.”
“I think the NFL cares about the bottom line like any corporation, above all else. They don’t really need to pinch pennies because they have so much revenue. Therefore, they can faux-prioritize DEI for the sake of good publicity.”
As noted above, Enteen has been suspended by the Commanders.
“The language used in the video runs counter to our values at the Commanders organization. We have suspended the employee pending an internal investigation and will reserve further comment at this time,” a team spokesperson told the New York Post.
This is probably the last thing the Commanders wanted right before the start of their season opener; it’s really not a good look.
