Cameras caught former NFL quarterback Tom Brady and play-by-play commentator Kevin Burkhardt practicing in the broadcast booth for Sunday’s New Orleans Saints-San Francisco 49ers preseason game.
Adam Amin and Mark Sanchez were on the call for the preseason contest at Levi’s Stadium, but Tom Brady was also in the booth alongside his new TV partner. Brady is entering the first of a 10-year, $375 million contract he signed with FOX two years ago.
The @NFLonFOX X/Twitter account shared a video of Brady and Burkhardt doing a test run in preparation for TB12’s debut as an analyst. The seven-time Super Bowl champion will be on the call with Burkhardt for the Cleveland Browns-Dallas Cowboys Week 1 game on Sept. 8:
After retiring from football (for good) 18 months ago, Brady got to enjoy a year off before beginning the 10-year deal he signed with FOX. Now, just like old times, Brady is back to appearing regularly on your television sets during football season.

Former Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen spent two years as the analyst on FOX’s No. 1 commentary team of Burkhardt and Erin Andrews. With Brady taking over for Olsen, the latter was moved to the No. 2 team with Joe Davis.
Burkhardt was promoted to the No. 1 commentator role after Joe Buck and Troy Aikman left for ESPN to call “Monday Night Football” games.
Brady isn’t the only retired NFL legend who debuts as an analyst this year. Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce signed a deal with ESPN to work on their “Monday Night Countdown” program, replacing Robert Griffin III.
Tom Brady Should Flourish As An NFL Analyst
Love or hate Tom Brady, but nobody saw more on the field than the seven-time Super Bowl champion and three-time league MVP. Given his experience and status as the most accomplished NFL player ever, there should be little doubt that he will succeed in the broadcast booth.
