FOX Sports analyst and former NFL quarterback Tom Brady went off on Daniel Jones during the New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving game.
Last week, the Giants released Daniel Jones from his contract at the veteran quarterback’s request. Jones was demoted on the depth chart in favor of Tommy DeVito (previously the third-stringer) and Drew Lock, and he wound up signing with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday. And let’s just say that Tom Brady had some thoughts on Jones’ exit from the Giants.
During the Thanksgiving game, Brady criticized Jones’ decision to seek his release:
“To think that you would ask for your release from a team that committed a lot to you is maybe different than I would handled that. I always felt I wanted to get the trust and respect of my teammates.”

Brady says the team committed a lot of money to Jones… and that he would never have abandoned his teammates like that, no matter how hard it got.

Tom Brady added that, going back to his college days, he did whatever he could to accommodate his team, even though there were some situations he didn’t like.

Not Every QB Can Be Like Tom Brady
It’s impossible to compare Daniel Jones’ career to that of Tom Brady’s. There’s only one seven-time Super Bowl champion and five-time SB MVP, after all.
Brady made some good points here, but it’s obvious that the Giants weren’t going to retain Jones beyond this season. At the end of the day, it made sense for both sides to divorce ASAP.
