NFL fans were saying the same thing about head referee Ronald Torbert during the Philadelphia Eagles-Green Bay Packers game in São Paulo, Brazil on Friday night.
Ronald Torbert and his crew were assigned to the first-ever NFL game in Brazil, featuring two NFC heavyweights. Incredibly, Mr. Torbert himself was one of the main talking points of the game—and it had nothing to do with his crew’s performance.
If an NFL official is a main talking point during or after any given game, it’s usually because they did a terrible job. But the veteran official went viral on social media thanks to the sound of his voice when he had to announce a call.
Is Torbert fighting a cold, or did he lose his voice from announcing too many penalties? You decide for yourself:

It was indeed a night filled with an alarming amount of penalty calls. The Packers committed 10 penalties for 71 yards, and the Eagles took seven penalties for 57 yards. Jalen Hurts’ group held on for a tight 34-29 to start out 1-0 for the fourth consecutive year.
The Eagles will make the trip back to Philadelphia and prepare for a Week 2 home tilt against Kirk Cousins’ Atlanta Falcons on “Monday Night Football.” The Packers, looking to avoid a disastrous 0-2 start, will host the Indianapolis Colts in their home opener next Sunday at Lambeau Field
As for Ronald Torbert, let’s hope that he will be able to take cough drops, chicken noodle soup and/or some hot tea on the flight back home.
Ronald Torbert Begins 15th Season As An NFL Official
