EA Sports is getting destroyed on social media after making an announcement expected to get them some traction online.
The publishers are soon to release ‘Madden 25,’ which is scheduled to launch on August 16.
They had already released a trailer late last month showing off game engine footage and fresh features, but this Wednesday, they took to X/Twitter to show off a new catch mechanic.
“New Spectacular One-Handed Grabs are coming to #Madden25,” they wrote as the caption to a video showing Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson snatching a pass out of the air with his left hand.

“Another completely unnecessary animation,” one user wrote. “How about you make the menus actually function? It’s the worst menu system in gaming by far, the actual core game is so unfun to play.”

“No one is playing this,” said another. “You had 10 years to make Madden good as the standalone game and you failed so miserably. Same thing year in and out but atleast we can make unnecessary one handed grabs? Keep it.”

‘Madden 25’ Might Be Taking A Backseat To Another EA Title
EA promises novelty with every ‘Madden’ iteration, yet fans keep complaining about playing the same game year after year. This time around, they’ve talked up Hot Route updates, new mini-games, updated stadiums, and a new switch stick that allows for the use of multiple defenders.
There are also the new FieldSENSE and BOOM features, though they will only be available on next-gen hardware.
Of course, now there’s a new one-handed catch.
It does appear that fans are way more interested in EA’s ‘College Football 25,’ which launches on July 19.
Go figure.
