Adam Schefter had the entire internet laughing after popping up in a video racing Rich Eisen in a 40-yard dash.
The NFL insider has been one of the most trusted sources in sports for a long time. But, while he’s excellent at finding the news and delivering it in a timely fashion, it appears he’s looking to be known for something else, too: speed.
It’s why he challenged Eisen, a fellow Michigan alum, to a race this weekend.
“Michigan on Michigan crime. But Rich Eisen, here is a new king of the 40-yard dash,” he wrote as the caption to a video which has since gone viral.
The journos didn’t set the world alight, as expected, but the video has been doing the rounds anyway, especially as Schefter took a plunge at the end.

“gotta watch out for that white line at the end, it’ll get ya,” former NFL star J.J. Watt warned, way too late, of course…
“Falling at the end of a 40 yd dash is something,” a user wrote.
“The mat is a true hero. Schefty would’ve been placed on season-ending IR if not for it,” ESPN colleague Jordan Reid joked.
“The video cuts right at the face plant I feel robbed,” someone else noted.
“Schefter won, but at what cost?” the ‘Bussin’ With the Boys’ podcast asked.
Adam Schefter Has Some Burns To Show Off Now
The ESPN star had some battle scars to show off after the race.
Eisen, meanwhile, has been doing this for a long time. He’s been running the 40 at the NFL Scouting Combine every year since 2005, with the activity starting out as a challenge from former NFL running back Terrell Davis and sticking around.
He now does it for charity and has helped raise over $5 million for St. Jude since pledging support to the nonprofit in 2015.
Maybe Adam Schefter will take over now that he’s managed to beat him.
