The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had some decent success in the last few seasons, including a Super Bowl championship under the direction of Bruce Ariens and former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, and the successes could continue under current head coach Todd Bowles.
Following Brady and Arians’ departures from the club, the Buccaneers hired former New York Jets bench boss Todd Bowles to take charge of the team, and they brought in controversial signal-caller Baker Mayfield.
Mayfield himself may not be the only controversial figure on the Bucs now. Todd Bowles may have just joined his quarterback after his comments during a post-practice interview ahead of the team’s week one match-up against the Washington Commanders.
In the clip posted to X by MLFootball, Bowles can be seen talking to the media about Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, claiming that if they just focus on him, “the other 10 guys on the field are going to kill you,” finishing it off by stating “we’re trying to beat the Redskins.”

The Commanders played two seasons as the Washington Football Team before being rebranded on February 2, 2022, as the Commanders, which received mixed reactions. Many fans are still begging the owner to change the name back.
While these fans may not get what they want, it has been rumored that the Commanders may make another name change shortly as they are currently facing pressure to rebrand again after parting ways with who many consider the worst NFL owner in history, Dan Snyder.
Nothing has been confirmed, but Todd Bowles and his Buccaneers are preparing to battle in what will be a highly anticipated match-up. Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels will make his NFL Regular Season debut.
