ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith managed to make the Houston Texans trading for Stefon Diggs about the Dallas Cowboys.
To be fair, Stephen A’s hardly the only one dumping on the Cowboys as they’ve been catching strays online since the Texans agreed to said trade with the Buffalo Bills.
Smith, who is probably the most famous Cowboys detractor in the country, was discussing the trade on ‘First Take’ when he went another route with the topic, taking it to Dallas.
“The big headline is [the Texans] are probably the best team in Texas,” he said with a rueful smile. “All the Houston Texans are doing is saying, ‘Howdy! We’re here. And our focus is on the right things.’
“I don’t know what’s on the schedule, but I’m hoping it’s Houston against Dallas,” he added. “So what’s going to happen with the Dallas Cowboys, they’re going to sit up there and they’re going to monitor this situation. It’s one thing for you to not win a Super Bowl, that’s bad enough. It’s one thing for you to not make an NFC championship in 29 years, that’s even worse. But it’s another thing entirely when you ain’t even the best team in Texas.”

Everyone is now looking forward to a clash between the Cowboys and Texans next season but we’ll all have to wait for the release of the 2024 NFL schedule next month.
Stephen A. Smith Thinks The Houston Texans Have An Edge Over The Dallas Cowboys Now
Smith reckons the Houston Texans would come out on top of the Dallas Cowboys if they play next season. His reasoning stems from the fact that the Texans have a young, talented roster led by a coach who has proven he knows how to win, as well as very decent cap space.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud is playing on a rookie deal that gives Houston enough flexibility to surround him with the best weapons they can. The AFC outfit has done great business so far, having re-signed former Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz to a new deal while also trading for Diggs and bringing in star running back Joke Mixon.
They surely have the look of contenders about them now.
