Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban shocked everyone after taking a shot at Pete Carroll during ‘College GameDay’ on Saturday.
The crew invited legendary running back Marshawn Lynch to be their guest picker on the day, with the show heading to California for Cal’s home game against Miami. Lynch, who played for the Golden Bears, went for the obvious pick, tipping his alma mater to beat the Hurricanes.
Saban went with 5-0 Canes before telling the former RB he would have definitely gone to him on a short-yardage play in the Super Bowl despite their differing views.
“We may disagree on our pick,” he said, “but I am telling you man, fourth and 1 in the Super Bowl at the 1 (yard-line), I am giving your a** the ball. Right here!”

Nick Saban’s Dig At Pete Carroll Wasn’t Lost On Fans
Social media quickly pointed out that Saban’s comment had more to do with Carroll than Lynch.
“Saban owned Carroll,” a comment read.
“Shot to the heart damn,” someone wrote.
“Haha 🤣 Saban isn’t holding anything back lol,” someone added.
“Damn that dig at Pete!” a user exclaimed.
“Exactly Saban but what make it even more egregious is it was 2nd and goal. Pete should have been fired for that decision alone..smh,” someone else wrote.
“Sadly, it wasn’t even 4th down!” a fan wrote.
“Still baffles me till this day… Saban is a real one,” said another user.
Nick Saban was obviously referencing Carroll’s decision to have Russell Wilson throw the ball at the one-yard line instead of handing it to Lynch nearing the end of the Super Bowl in 2015.
As everyone knows, the pass was intercepted, with the New England Patriots going on to win a fourth title after one of the most bizarre scenes in NFL history.
