OJ Simpson Was Acquitted After Murder Charges In The 90s
OJ Simpson spent his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers. He was named the league MVP and Offensive Player of the Year in 1973 and was the scoring leader two years later. A four-time Rushing Yards Leader, Simpson was a five-time first-team All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowler.
After retirement, he transitioned to sportscasting and acting and enjoyed life as a celebrity until things took a wild turn in 1994. Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, were both found stabbed to death outside of the former’s condo in Brentwood, Los Angeles.
Simpson turned himself in after leading police on a 60-mile low-speed chase while holding a gun to his head and threatening to shoot himself.
He was charged for the murders of Brown and Goldman but was acquitted 11 months later.
Simpson would end up serving nine years on an armed robbery charge before being released in 2017.
