Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay cemented himself as one of the brightest minds in football when he won 2017 Coach of the Year honors, but awards and accolades don’t do justice.
At just 38 years of age, Sean McVay is already on a Hall of Fame trajectory. He took over a long-struggling Rams franchise and has already guided them to five playoff appearances, two NFC Championships and a Super Bowl 57 title.
But as we noted above, McVay’s pure football genius goes above his individual trophy room. If you need further proof, look no further than his incredibly specific and detailed trivia knowledge of the Rams’ 2024 opponents.
After the Rams’ 2024 regular season schedule was released, McVay was asked ultra-specific questions about each of his opponents.
For instance, McVay’s Rams will visit the Detroit Lions in their season opener. McVay was asked to recall the exact play where Cooper Kupp scored a touchdown in Week 7 of the Rams-Lions 2021 contest, and he perfectly described it.
With the Rams set to host the Green Bay Packers in Week 5, McVay was asked to name their three all-time receiving leaders. He got that right. Asked to name Tyler Higbee’s stat line for the the Rams-Philadelphia Eagles 2020 contest, McVay recalled it correctly as well:

Sean McVay & Rams Look To Build Off Surprise 2023 Success
The Rams were a trendy pick to finish as a bottom-10 team in the NFL last season, but Sean McVay and company had other ideas.
After a sluggish 3-6 start, the Rams closed out on a 7-1 run to lock down their third playoff appearance in four years. LA gave the third-seeded Lions a run for their money in the Wild Card Round, narrowly losing a close game 24-23.
Losing Aaron Donald to retirement hurts. However, the Rams have added notable names like Tre’Davious White, Darious Williams, Kamren Curl and rookie Jared Verse to bolster their defense. So the pieces are there for LA to make another playoff run in 2024.
