NFL fans are mind-blown over an aerial view of Anthony Richardson’s 60-yard touchdown bomb to Alec Pierce in the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 1 opener against the Houston Texans.
In the first quarter of the AFC South showdown, Anthony Richardson broke the internet by throwing a dime of a 60-yard touchdown to Pierce off his back foot and into the waiting arms of Pierce in double coverage.
Notice how Richardson slipped immediately after taking the snap, before releasing the ball as the pressure was coming:
The Colts X/Twitter account shared an aerial view of Richardson’s highlight reel play, and let’s just say that it looks even more unbelievable from this angle:

And this new aerial view left social media in total awe:
Anthony Richardson finished the day with nine completions for 212 yards, two touchdowns, an interception to go along with 56 rushing yards and one rushing score. The Colts fell to CJ Stroud and the reigning AFC South champions 29-27 in a back-and-forth thriller.
The No. 4 pick of the 2023 NFL Draft was limited to four games as a rookie last year after requiring season-ending shoulder surgery. The team finished 9-8 with backup Gardner Minshew II at QB, narrowly losing a win-or-go-home Week 18 game to the Texans.
Indianapolis will try to avoid an 0-2 start when they visit the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Anthony Richardson Reminds The NFL What He’s Capable Of
Coming out of Florida, Richardson was regarded as a boom-or-bust prospect. His all-world athleticism was undisputed, but there are always questions about how a dual-threat quarterback will perform in the pros.
We haven’t seen Anthony Richardson on the field enough to determine how he’ll fare as an NFL quarterback. But throws like this one to Pierce in Sunday’s game serve as a simple reminder that he’s capable of becoming a true franchise-changing star for Indianapolis if he can stay healthy.
