DK Metcalf is a pretty big guy, but not when he’s around Calvin Johnson, apparently.
The Detroit Lions legend is quite a massive specimen who made Metcalf look normal when they shared a moment ahead of the ‘Monday Night Football’ broadcast featuring the Lions and the Seattle Seahawks.
Of course, the Seahawks wide receiver boasts quite the build, yet he was made to look average when he embraced Johnson before the shootout loss on Monday.
Johnson, one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history, still holds the record for the most receiving yards in a single NFL season. He only played for nine years and probably walked away from the game with plenty in the tank, but his record still stands despite wideouts targeting it every season.
A Hall of Famer, deservedly so, Johnson made 731 career receptions for a total of 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns. Metcalf is one of the few players who draws comparisons to the Lions icon as he is listed at 6ft-4in and 235 pounds, while Johnson was listed at 6ft-5in and 237 pounds.
There’s hardly a difference when you look at the numbers, but a video of the two of them sharing an embrace tells a different story.

DK Metcalf Shouldn’t Appear That Short Next To Calvin Johnson
We imagine Johnson must have put on a few more pounds since retiring, though he doesn’t show it, but he still looks a lot taller than someone who’s supposed to be a single inch above Metcalf.
This just doesn’t add up.
Johnson doesn’t only look like he is several inches taller than Metcalf in the video, he also looks to be just as muscular, which is more impressive when you take the fact that the active player was wearing pads.
DK Metcalf, 26, made seven catches for 104 yards in the 42-29 loss on Monday night. Johnson is 39 now, but one could argue that he would probably put up similar stats had he suited up.
